Vocational Skills
About this program
YWCA Uganda’s interventions in Kampala focus on targeted skills development and livelihood strengthening for women, young women, girls and youth. We equip participants with practical, market-relevant skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
Through certificate and diploma programmes and modular trainings in areas such as hairdressing, catering and hotel management, automobile repair and maintenance, electrical and electronics, and welding and metal works, we strengthen technical and vocational competencies and create pathways to employment. By helping women, girls and youth take part meaningfully in the labour market, we contribute to better household incomes and economic resilience in communities across Kampala.
Our approach
- Hands-on practical learning with industry-linked internships
